Long after her role as closet lesbian Caroline Spencer ‘The Bold and the Beautiful,’ actress Joanna Johnson has finally announced that she was gay.
TMZ reported that Johnson made the announcement during a recent interview with TV Guide Magazine. “I’m here,” she said, “I’m queer.”
Admitting that she is “just getting used to it,” the 50-year-old Joanna Johnson shared that she first realized she was gay during her early twenties. “We didn’t have role models like Ellen [DeGeneres],” she lamented of.
“I’m not anywhere near as famous as those ladies,” Johnson -who also starred in ‘Hope and Faith’- modestly said of herself. “But I guess it’s my turn to do my little part.”
Saying that “It’s time to live a fully authentic life,” the actress expressed that she “would be very sad and hurt if the B&B fans were disappointed I’m a lesbian, or somehow feel betrayed that I kept it secret.”
Married to her wife, Michelle, since 2009, this is the first time Joanna Johnson has publicly come out regarding her sexuality.

A personal trainer accused John Travolta of paying him back for his help by fondling and groping him, making him the fourth alleged victim of the married actor.
It looks like John Travolta may have celebrated too soon as the anonymous male masseuse who got dropped by his lawyer has hired famed civil rights attorney Gloria Allred- and she’s itching for Round 2 with Travolta’s lawyer Marty Singer.
Gay singer Clay Aiken recently discussed Amendment One of his home state of North Carolina and the decision of President Barack Obama to endorse marriage equality.
Proclaiming that John Travolta is “completely vindicated” by John Doe No. 1 dropping his case against the actor, lawyer Marty Singer confidently expects the same from the second anonymous masseur plaintiff from Atlanta.
Last week, E! News reported that attorney Okorie Okorocha dismissed John Doe No. 1 as a client after the masseur admitted that he may have made mistakes regarding certain details of his lurid accusations.
